Ann Jones has been an active member of Delta Beta Chapter in District II since 2009 where she has served in many positions. On the state level, she has served as a member of the Membership Committee, District II Director, 2nd V.P., 1st V.P., and is currently Alabama State President. She has benefited from her involvement and attendance at local, district, state, regional, and international conferences and conventions and has led various workshops and sessions. Ann is a retired English teacher from Alexandria High School. She graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a BA in English and earned her MA in Secondary Ed from Jacksonville State University. She has been married for 42 years to Jim. They have lived in five states, have three children, and four grandchildren. Ann is active in her church and her interests include reading, baking, quilting, gardening, and mentoring young women. NOTE: It is Texas Woman’s not Women’s!
The president’s project for this biennium is Autism Support of Alabama. Their mission is to improve services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families through education and advocacy. Autism Support of Alabama (ASA) has been a volunteer organization directed by its Board of Directors for over 20 years. Alabama State First Vice-President Dawn Pettit Delta (VI) [email protected] Dawn Pettit is a Spanish teacher at Monroe County High School in Monroeville and is a member of Delta Chapter, District VI. She has served locally as Chapter President and Chairman of the Grant in Aid Committee. At the state level, she has served as Chairman of the Achievement Award committee, District VI Director, and is currently the Alabama State Second Vice President. Dawn enjoys being actively involved in DKG. She has attended state and international conferences, numerous fall boards, leadership days, and Beta State Leadership Seminar. She has enjoyed her different leadership roles within DKG and is looking forward to the next step of her Delta Kappa Gamma journey.
Alabama State Second Vice President Gennice Burch Alpha (V) [email protected] Gennice Burch is an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma Alpha Chapter District V since 2017. She has served as Chapter Vice President, currently serves as Chapter President, while also serving on various committees. Gennice is currently serving as Alabama State's 2nd Vice President. Since joining Delta Kappa Gamma, Gennice has gained valuable knowledge from her attendance in several state conventions, various workshops, fall boards and leadership institutes. Teaching high school students business subjects, to prepare them for the future, is a passion for her. Gennice graduated from Troy University with a BS in Human Resources and earned an MBA in International Business from Argosy University, while receiving highest honors. She is a Distinguished Toastmaster, having served as Area Director and later became Division Director for 16 chapters. Gennice has also served in several other Leadership positions in various organizations. She has active involvement in her church. Gennice has also hosted several events. During her spare time, she enjoys working out, reading, traveling, music, sports, and spending time with her family and friends. Gennice is the founder of Real Talk, a platform for women. She enjoys motivating and inspiring others to be the best version they can to fulfill their purpose.
Alabama State Recording Secretary Allison Hill Beta Delta (III) bhill@blountboe.net
Allison Hill has been an active member of Beta Delta Chapter in District III since 2007. She has served in many positions from chapter president to corresponding secretary. She has also been chairman of several committees. On the state level, Allison has served as District III Director and committee chairman of World Fellowship/Scholarship. Presently, she is serving on the nominations committee and committee chairman of the Achievement Award. She has attended state and international conventions since her induction into Delta Kappa Gamma. Allison is currently the Reading Interventionist at Appalachian School where she has taught since 1998. She spent most of her tenure in first grade before moving to the interventionist position. She graduated from Athens State with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and the University of Alabama with a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. In December she completed her Education Specialist degree in Early Childhood Education. Allison is the mother to Abigail and Josie Wales (cat), mother-in-law to Clark, and Hilde to Ali, and her grand puppies PoppyAnn, Helen, and Daisy Mae. In her spare time, she enjoys decorating her new home in Arab, visiting with family and friends, and shopping.
Alabama State Executive Secretary Libby Watson Mu (I) [email protected] A member of our Society for 42 years, Libby Watson is presently serving as the Alabama State Organization Executive Secretary. She served as Alabama State President in 2005-2007 and Southeast Regional Director, conducting the 2011 Southeast Region Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. Libby has served on all state and chapter level offices with three terms as chapter president. She has also served on five International committees including chairman of the International Nominations Committee.
She attended the 1992 Beta State Leadership Seminar, the 1999 International Golden Gift Leadership/Management Seminar and served as assistant coordinator for the 2010 Golden Gift Leadership/Management Seminar. Fulfilling these diverse duties has given her a valuable perspective into the needs and concerns of our chapters and state organizations, as well as the exciting possibilities for the future of DKG.
After receiving her BS and Master’s Degrees in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from the University of Alabama, Libby helped to establish one of the first public kindergarten programs in the state. She continued teaching kindergarten and first grade for 28 years, receiving various awards and recognitions for her contributions to education including being inducted into the Hartselle Educator Hall of Fame in 2019. Now retired, family, DKG and community service fill her days.
On a personal note…Libby and her husband Jack enjoy life as “river rats” on the banks of the Tennessee River near Athens, Alabama. They take great pleasure in sharing activities such as boating, motoring, and hunting. They have three children, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who joyfully complete their lives.

My name is Amy Stills. I am a SPED teacher at Woodville High School and work with students in grades 7,8, 9 and 12. I have a Bachelor’s in Specific Learning Disabilities from Athens State University and a Master’s in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama. My husband, Tommy, and I have one son, Colt. We attend Woodville Baptist Church. I have been a member of Rho Chapter since 2009 and have enjoyed serving as 2nd VP, 1st VP and President. I am looking forward to serving as Alabama State Corresponding Secretary.

Immediate Past President Penny Christian Gamma Phi (V) [email protected] Penny Christian is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelors and Masters in Secondary Education in Social Studies. Penny began her teaching career in Perry County at Robert C. Hatch. She also has taught at Francis Marion School, Central Hayneville and Berry High. She was an instructional Coach in the Moundville schools for a year and a half. Penny officially retired in June 2019 but returned to the classroom that August as a part time Social Studies teacher at Berry High School. She was employed as a part time Interventionist at Berry High School for the 2020-2021 school year. In May of 2021, Penny retired again and is presently is a mentor teacher with the University of West Alabama and an Interventionist at Northside Middle School.
Penny taught ACCESS until May 2021 when she retired from ACCESS. Presently she serves on the Alabama State Advisory Committee for Cognia. She has been a lead evaluator and served on teams throughout the Southeast.
Penny lives in Samantha, Alabama with her mom and dog T.C. She is a member of Gamma Phi in Perry County. Penny is past Alabama State President for Delta Kappa Gamma.
Jessica has been a member of our Society since 2016 as a member of the Delta Xi chapter in District VI. Since joining, Jessica has served as Delta Xi’s 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, and current President, as well as serving on various committees. She also served as District VI Director for Alabama State. Jessica has been active at the state level by not only attending state conventions and a variety of state meetings and leadership trainings but also, hosting training sessions for other members to share valuable information to build and promote their chapter. Additionally, throughout the COVID pandemic, she aided in hosting virtual sessions for our Alabama State Organization to include members who were unable to travel. She has attended International Conventions and Officer training where she learned valuable information to aid and engage members. Jessica is presently serving as the Alabama State Organization Webmaster and Editor. Jessica received her BS from the University of West Alabama in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She is currently in her 20th year of teaching in Mobile County Public Schools. Throughout her career, she has not only taught kindergarten through 2nd grade and served in multiple leadership positions; but also been awarded Teacher of the Year, and served as the webmaster for the school where she was currently working. On a personal note, Jessica enjoys an amazingly simple, quiet life in the country near Mobile, AL with David, her Boston terrier (child - seriously he doesn’t know he’s a dog LOL) Trigger, and the chickens. She enjoys hunting, fishing, kayaking, and almost any other outdoor activity in her free time. In short, some people could describe her as a ‘homebody.”
